Fair trade

We are packing up and getting ready to take a Christmas road trip to Oregon.

We are trading this:

for this.

A fair trade in my mind.

At the end of our 14 hour drive we will find a beautiful family and this terrific tree.
Happy Holidays, everyone.

Turning Three

A good friend has a child who is turning three. In lieu of another Dora the Explorer doll, I decided to make a complete dress up kit for her. There was minimal sewing involved (just the ribbon around the crown and a straight stitch to close the elastic on the tutu). Everything else was glued or tied together.

We glued princess wrapping paper onto a large boot box and added rhinestones in appropriate spots so that she could keep it as a dress up box.

Oh, I had so much fun looking at pink things! And tulle!!

Here is a shot of the unintended male fit model, who may justify his move to put me in a retirement home based on this alone.

And on the real life doll.

New Beginnings

After reading roughly 2 million blogs, I've decided to create one of my own. I'm hoping to pull all of my interests together in one place and have something tangible at the end of my days of playing on the internet. I will blog about reading, sewing, cooking and what my life is like as a stay at home mom. I will post about events in our local community as well. I hope to come up with something interesting. We will see.
